A Hidden Cove on the Costa Brava
Cala Aigua Xelida (Costa Brava, Spain)
The Costa Brava is known for its beautiful beaches with so many to choose from - sprawling sandy beaches, busy beaches with colourful umbrellas and small rocky coves like this one, which was my favourite. Cala Aigua Xelida feels like a secret beach, a small cove tucked between rugged cliffs and shady pines. From above, the cove looks like a stolen moment - a patch of golden sand, and the clearest, shallow blue-green water. We hiked there several times from our Airbnb house (this one) on a rocky trail with beautiful views that continues on to Tamariu, a charming beach town with cafés and small hotels.
